In 1989 'DJ-JB' entered his first DMC DJ battle in Swansea. He had had his turntables 6 months, but still managed to qualify and get through to the evening DJ heat along with 6 others. He entered the same competition for the next 2 years, qualifying for a regional heat in 1990 and then managing to get to the UK final after 3 runner up places in heats and winning the London and South East heat in 1991. 

Jason then turned his hand to what was becoming known at the time as the 'Rave Scene'. Already establishing himself as a top DJ locally his popularity lead to him running several clubs, one of which was in Cork in Ireland. Since the music has moved on and traveled in all directions, Jason's taste in music has become more varied, but his heart still lies in what originally captured his imagination, and this is what he loves to do.

To listen to a DJ set by Jason now, you could be treated to all types of music and sounds. Electro, Hip Hop, Funk, Soul, Breakbeat, House, Garage, Turntablism, Old Skool and Nu Skool will all make an appearance, in some form or other.

Jason has also been involved in music production, and is a teacher of the turntables, a professional tutor who has had many apprentices.
